Hydrosol Name: Sandalwood

Botanical Name:  Santalum album

Origin:  India

Hydrosols are different than essential oils. A hydrosol (floral water) is the by-product of the essential oils distillation process. When essential oils are extracted from the plant materials, the “leftover” water from the steaming process is collected and put to use.

Once thought of as waste, hydrosols contain all the therapeutic properties of essential oils, just at a lower concentration. Essential oils can become too strong and overly potent without proper dilution, but hydrosols are safe and ready to use. They can be sprayed into the air, applied directly to the skin, and used in the home.

Floral water, aromatic water, hydrolats and hydroflorates are all terms used to describe hydrosols.

Sandalwood Hydrosol is a great choice for dry skin and hair. It can help ease eczema and psoriasis, yet is mild enough for sensitive skin. As a facial mist it regulates oil production and improves the appearance of mature, stressed skin. It can be used all over the body to fight bacteria and deodorize. It is a popular choice among men for its warm, woodsy, musky scent. Its aroma can subdue aggression, relieve anxiety and act as an aphrodisiac. It has been known to help with symptoms of sore throat and respiratory issues such as bronchitis. It has been long used to promote spiritual awakening.

Examples of when to use sandalwood hydrosol:

  • Spray on body after a shower and allow to air dry to decrease razor burn

  • Rub into the ends of hair to repair split ends

  • Mist in the home/office/yoga studio to promote a peaceful, healing environment

  • Use as a facial toner to control oil production and reduce fine lines

  • Use as a hot or cold compress to ease cramps

  • Spray in a gym bag, laundry room, or other areas that need deodorizing

This is the best Sandalwood Hydrosol I've come across at a most reasonable price. I hand manufacture high end natural skin care and use this as a base in some of my products. It works amazing well on the skin and the scent is pure, soft and natural.

this was a great buy i promise you wont find sandalwood hydrosol much cheaper anywhere and most ebay vendors are selling hydrosol or perfume oils and labeling them essential oil on ebay. a hydrosol is a floral water product of the distilling process..

My favorite scent!

This is my favorite scent to wear. I'm not big on perfume and have always loved the lightness of 'toilet water', so hydrosol is the perfect match. Very soft and warm without being strong.
