Ideas for Using Beeswax

What is beeswax?

Beeswax is a solid, malleable substance produced by - you guessed it - bees! Not only can it be used in tons of ways around the home, it also has incredible benefits for your skin.

Benefits
To put it simply, beeswax creates a protective barrier on our skin that keeps the bad stuff out and the good stuff in. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and is breathable enough to not clog pores while helping skin retain moisture. It works wonders for dry, chapped skin, which is why it is commonly found in lip balms and salves. It has also been known to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark spots, and stretch marks and can soften rough, dry skin.

How can it be used?

- in lip balm, salve, cream and lotion recipes
- to make candles and luminaries
- in soaps and lotion bar recipes
- to style dreadlocks and facial hair
- as a DIY shoe polish
- as a wooden furniture polish
- for homemade modeling clay and crayons

White vs yellow?

White beeswax is naturally bleached - better for projects where you want to add color.

Yellow beeswax
is fully refined - a better choice if want the natural color of the wax to stand out.

Where can i get it?
